Duplex Clamps: Big Improvements to a Small Component

Greenville, SC – 12 November 2010 - James C. White Company, Inc. announces design changes and new sizes for our "Duplex" Paired Yoke Clamp. The new clamps are 16-gage stainless steel, T-304, and replace the thinner gage clamps in T-316 stainless as the company's catalog standard. In addition, JCWCO is adding two new sizes of Duplex Clamps, 3/4-inch and 1-inch tube size, to go along with our earlier catalog sizes of 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, and 1/2-inch.

NEW DUPLEX CLAMP IN
1/2-INCH OD SIZE

These new clamps are designed and manufactured with all the quality detail that TUBETRACK® components are known for throughout industry. The new Duplex Clamps are very much like our Yoke Clamps in terms of strength, consistency, corrosion resistance, and finish (which is smooth and easy to handle and use).

Standard material is 16-gage, 304 stainless steel. Earlier clamp models featured lighter gage, 316 stainless steel material. For Duplex Clamps in 316 stainless, please contact the factory

Just like Yoke Clamps, our new Duplex Clamps provide a very neat fit for the tube size they hold. They are designed to provide a flush hold against TUBETRACK® Angle and Channel, as well as other jobsite flat surfaces. Clamps attach with 1/4-inch diameter fasteners through the central round hole. One additional new feature of the new Duplex Clamp for 1/2-inch OD tube is the slotted central hole (illustrated above) which allows for fit in TUBETRACK® 2" x 2" Angle (illustrated at right). Duplex Clamps for smaller tube OD (1/4-inch and 3/8-inch) fit in Angle with standard round hole. Fasteners are available from factory inventory.

New standard catalog part numbers will show the "SS4" material code for 304 stainless steel, replacing the "SS6" in earlier model part numbers. New part numbers will be:

JCWCo Announces 12-Foot Standard Length on All Stainless Steel Structural Members

Greenville, SC – 18 November 2009 – James C. White Company, Inc. announces 12-foot standard length on stainless steel. Standard length for all stainless steel straight structural members (angles and channel and flat) for both TUBETRACK® and CABLE-RACE® are now being set at twelve (12) feet. This change from the company’s longstanding standards on length is made now to increase effectiveness and efficiency in ordering, shipping, and handling of material once it has arrived on the jobsite.

The 12–foot length standard will apply to both T304 and T316 parts. It will apply to angle, all seven sizes of channel, all four widths of channel covers, and all three widths of flat, including the 30 parts listed below:

2” X 2” Angle (T304) 1” wide Channel Cover (T304)
2” X 2” Angle (T316) 1” wide Channel Cover (T316)
2” X 2” Channel (T304) 2” wide Channel Cover (T304)
2” X 2” Channel (T316) 2” wide Channel Cover (T316)
4” X 2” Channel (T304) 4” wide Channel Cover (T304)
4” X 2” Channel (T316) 4” wide Channel Cover (T316)

4” X 1” Channel (T304) 6” wide Flat (T304)
4” X 1” Channel (T316) 6” wide Flat (T316)
6” X 1” Channel (T304)
6” X 1” Channel (T316)

Previously, standard lengths for stainless members were a mix of 20-foot and 10-foot, which was often required to match limited quantity production runs and limited footage shipping bundle requirements of the more specialized material. The change to 12-foot will be the best of both worlds, facilitating lower cost production runs of all shapes and quantities (as well as specials) and easier handling during shipment and construction.

In the few weeks ahead there may be some availability of old lengths on some angles and channels. Lengths other than our new 12-foot standard may be quoted during this interim time. If so, please take note and communicate your preferences to our sales staff.

The standard straight lengths of other materials (metals other than stainless steel) will not be changed. 20-foot will remain the standard for all angles and channels in galvanized steel, and aluminum. 10-foot will remain the standard for flat straight lengths in galvanized steel and aluminum.
